Equine Protection Fund
equine horse protection fund

The Equine Protection Fund is New Mexico's first statewide equine welfare and assistance program. The Fund works with a broad spectrum of New Mexicans to minimize the suffering of equines by seeking solutions to their most immediate needs.

The Fund is a partner of New Mexico Community Foundation and accepts contributions from a variety of sources. 97.5% of contributions go direct to assistance for equines. Fund monies are overseen by an advisory board consisting of horsemen and women from across the state, whom recommend Fund disbursement and make grants to support the humane treatment of equines.

Advisory Committee
The Advisory Board is comprised of New Mexicans interested in equine issues, including but not limited to representatives from communities such as horse breeders, racing, pleasure riders, equine rescue and rehabilitation, and animal advocacy.
